FAQ - Frequently asked questions about the SBEES project

What is SBEES?

SBEES stands for South Baltic Electromobility Enabling Services. It is an EU-funded project that aims to develop services that support the transition to electric vehicles by facilitating the planning and deployment of charging infrastructure and electricity grids.

What services will be developed under SBEES?

Four services will be developed:

  • A service for mapping the need for chargers and grid capacity.

  • A service for monitoring the utilisation rate of chargers.

  • A service to plan energy storage needs.

  • A service to support Vehicle-to-Grid charging, where electric vehicles can feed energy back into the grid.

Why are these services important?

To meet the increasing demand for charging and electricity capacity required by electric vehicles. By using these services, different actors, such as municipalities and energy companies, can better plan their infrastructure and optimise their resources.

How can I get involved in SBEES?

You can sign up to receive regular newsletters and be invited to workshops and seminars. If you are interested, you can also apply to be part of a project reference group.

Who is behind the project?

The project is led by IUC Syd in Sweden, with the support of nine other partners from Germany, Denmark, Poland and Lithuania, including universities and cities that have key roles in the project.

How long will the project last?

The project will run for three years, from June 2024 to May 2027, with a total budget of almost €2 million.
